He led Retail Banking and Risk Management functions in State Bank of India, the largest commercial bank in India. During a career of over 37 years, he has dealt with all aspects of banking including retail, risk, compliance, treasury, international banking, investment banking, private equity etc. He was a part of the top management team of the Bank and a member of Board/Key Investment Committees for more than 4 years. Worked as CEO of Investment banking arm and as Deputy CEO of Infra fund set up by the Bank in partnership with Macquarie and IFC, World Bank Group.

Managed the Balance Sheet of the Bank as CFO, had two international postings and also headed Treasury of the Bank. He was the Chairman of the Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI) from June 2014 to August 2015. In his capacity as the Chairman of FEDAI, he actively participated in formulating policies about the conduct of foreign exchange business in India and jointly hosted many programmes along with RBI. During his tenure as Chief Dealer – Forex, he was actively engaged in developments of forex derivatives in the Indian market.

He is currently engaged as Chairmen in Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited, Independent Director in Hiranandani Financial Services Private Limited and Nominee Director in 63 Moons Technologies Limited.
